Cardano Developers Funds the Haskell Foundation

Input-Output Hong Kong, the development wing of the Cardano led by Charles Hoskinson, the co-founder, is now one of the early sponsors of the Haskell Foundation. It is a non-profit aiming to expand the adoption of the open governance and open source Haskell programming language.

Details:

The foundation was unveiled on Nov 4. Their objective, according to Simon Peyton Jones--a British Computer Scientist, is to empower the community while sticking to the core Haskell principles. Before, Haskell Foundation had a funding problem. With IOHK dedicating resources and funding, it stands to find what it seeks. Already, Haskell forms a big part of Cardano’s core infrastructure and IOHK’s investment is strategic.

Impact on the ADA Price:

Neutral. Haskell Programming is trusted by the peer-reviewed and research-led Cardano whose lead developers are known for their thoroughness. Their funding of the Haskell Foundation will lead to more innovation as volunteers flow in to further refine the language, building more libraries, and launching more features.
