IOHK of Cardano Releases the Alpha Version of Marlowe
The Alpha version of Marlowe, a DSL programming language for creating financial contracts, has been released by IOHK, the technical development wing of the smart contracting platform, Cardano. Unlike other general-purpose languages like Solidity, Marlowe is embedded in Haskell and is easy to read and create contracts with from its web-based Marlowe Playground.
Details:
Cardano is at the second stage of its five-phase rollout culminating in Voltaire. It now supports staking and it could as well be the most decentralized Proof-of-Stake blockchain in existence. There are over 600 staking pools holders can choose from. Marlowe is part of the Goguen phase, a rollout that enables smart contracting in the peer-reviewed platform. The launch of Marlowe wets the ground and is the base for further development and eventual activation of Cardano’s smart contracts.
Impact on the ADA Price:
Bullish. Smart contracting will be huge for Cardano. Marlowe is also special in the sense that it is finely tuned for financial contracts unlike in competing platforms like Ethereum. Goguen development is on-going, Marlowe is part of the puzzle and its perfection is crucial for Cardano and crypto.
